Our approach to human-centered design and software development is pretty straightforward. We apply user research to the design and development of functional platforms using clean code and intuitive design, and then we make those platforms accessible to everyone.
About the Role
Like most people in the United States, clinicians depend on government systems like the Quality Payment Program (QPP) to manage healthcare payments efficiently. However, navigating and completing transactions within the QPP online interface and searching for information on the website poses significant challenges.
We’re seeking a UX Researcher who is deeply committed to championing the needs of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) clinician-facing Quality Payment Program (QPP) diverse user base. In this role, you will collaborate closely with an agile, cross-functional team to enhance the QPP website experience by providing research-driven design solutions and delivering timely, relevant content. Your efforts will ensure a seamless and more efficient experience for QPP users.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with team members to strategize and execute usability research initiatives, encompassing tasks such as participant recruitment, testing sessions, data analysis, documentation of findings, and presentation of insights
- Test hypotheses and assumptions during iterative rounds of testing while developing deep levels of user empathy
- Partner closely with designers and product teams to pinpoint areas for enhancement within applications by leveraging insights derived from research
- Create a succinct, high-impact story that clearly articulates the user problem, is data-backed, and advocates for the voice of clinicians when presenting cross-functionally
- Establish and nurture reliable relationships with team members and external stakeholders spanning different disciplines and departments, ensuring their active participation in the discovery process and findings
- Assist in research activities conducted by team members by taking notes, reviewing materials, and engaging in ResearchOps tasks as required
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of direct research experience, particularly in usability testing
- Skilled in conducting usability tests remotely using a range of methodologies and tools
- Possesses a deep understanding of human-centered design principles, interaction design fundamentals, and UI design best practices, with a strong emphasis on accessibility and inclusivity
- Highly motivated and adept at managing tasks independently, with excellent organizational abilities and a collaborative mindset
- A portfolio showcasing your process, including samples of research materials such as research plans, discussion guides, recruitment strategies, and findings documents
- Experience working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have resided and worked in the United States for at least three out of the last five years
- A 4-year degree
