Working alongside our sales team, you’ll help shape project trajectories with accurate estimates. You’ll partner directly with our clients, understanding their visions and using your design expertise to craft tangible digital products. Your projects will span from a month to a year, collaborating closely with clients and project managers. Your primary responsibility is to create design assets that capture our clients’ goals, transforming their ideas into standout products.
Your role goes beyond just delivering outstanding designs. Building relationships, showing genuine empathy, and consistently delivering top-notch quality is how you’ll instill unwavering trust. Our clients need to feel confident that their aspirations are in expert hands, being transformed into compelling realities.
From time to time, you’ll also serve as a mentor, ensuring Black Airplane’s design ethos flourishes in future crew members. Your leadership will inspire the next wave of designers, upholding our unwavering commitment to top-tier design and innovation.
This is a full-time, remote position (US only).
- Collaborate with the sales team, providing design estimates and insights to shape project direction from start to finish.
- Serve as the primary design contact for clients, fostering trust and translating their vision into actionable design plans.
- Independently lead the design journey from ideation and gathering requirements to high-fidelity visualizations, ensuring alignment with client goals.
- Develop essential design artifacts, such as wireframes and prototypes, to articulate and test design decisions. Deliver compelling presentations of design artifacts, justifying design decisions and addressing feedback.
- Champion an iterative approach, integrating stakeholder feedback to refine digital solutions for end-users.
- Prioritize tasks and manage concurrent projects, ensuring timely delivery while upholding the highest quality.
- Work closely with developers to guarantee design fidelity during the implementation phase.
- Stay updated on design trends, bringing fresh insights to enhance our offerings.
- Offer mentorship to budding designers, nurturing their growth and skills.
- Engage with Design Leadership to refine Black Airplane’s design methodologies and vision.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a product designer in an agency or digital product setting.
- 3+ Years of experience with Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- A rich portfolio illustrating a wide array of digital product design projects and your approach to problem-solving.
- Demonstrated experience working on at least 2 shipped digital products (either web or mobile applications).
- Proficiency in breaking down and crafting solutions for intricate design challenges.
- Efficient time management skills, with a history of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
