As a Staff Engineer in the Platform Development department, you will play a vital role in innovating new and exciting features for our flagship supply chain security platform, contributing to our open source community, and ensuring the architecture and security of our platform.

Primary Responsibilities
- Architect and contribute to the development of our supply chain security platform using a robust stack including Go, Node, Kubernetes, and Shell.
- Innovate new features and enhancements for our platform, catering to the unique needs of our customers.
- Contribute to our open source community by sharing code and collaborating with other developers.
- Collaborate closely with product teams to ensure the architecture and security of epics and features.
- Participate in iteration planning, stand-ups, code reviews, and user acceptance testing.
Success in the Role:
Performance goals over the first 6-12 months:
In the first 30 days
- Familiarize yourself with TestifySec’s ethos, products, and offerings.
- Engage with your team and understand the product’s trajectory.
- Evaluate the current documentation and training.
- Pair with teammates and practice our software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Contribute to platform fixes or open source software.
In the first 60 days
- Take part in Iteration Planning and team stand-ups.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute features and chores to the platform.
- Pair with teammates to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing.
In the first 90 days
- Contribute ideas to our Product Planning process.
- Lean into regular duties such as architecture, security testing, and diagramming.
- Share thoughts, ideas, and opinions in company culture circles.
- Write blog posts to accompany completed features and epics.
- Rotate in a customer tour to empathize with our users and gain insights.
Regular Duties
- Drive the architecture and security of our platform and features.
- Continuously participate in code reviews and maintain high coding standards.
- Collaborate with product teams to provide high-level requirements and enable innovative solutions.
- Contribute to open source projects and engage with the developer community.
- Practice Test Driven Development and continuously improve skills.
- Write blog posts to share knowledge and contribute to the industry.
- Embrace a culture of learning, adaptability, and passion for the craft of software development.
Team Leadership and Culture
This role reports to Kris Coleman, the Director of Platform Engineering. Kris has over a decade of experience leading high-performing teams in consultancies and healthtech, recently leading the Digital Front Door team at Corewell Health before joining TestifySec. Kris embodies a leadership style inspired by the principles outlined in "Turn the Ship Around," which emphasizes a leader-leader culture.
