Responsibilities:

Depending on your skills and interests, you may be responsible for one or more of the following areas:

  • Design and Development: Conceptualize, design, and implement software solutions that meet user needs and business requirements. This may involve writing code, developing algorithms, and integrating various components.
  • Testing and Debugging: Thoroughly test software to identify and fix bugs, ensuring functionality, performance, and security.

  • A minimum of three years of equivalent work experience in a relevant SWE or DevOps role may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications can enhance your qualifications and may be required for some roles. Examples include:
  • SWE/DevOps: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
  • Security: CISSP, CISA, CEH, CompTIA Security+.
  • Essential Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, practices, and technologies
  • Proficiency in relevant programming languages, frameworks, and tools
  • Experience with DevOps practices like CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices (secure coding, vulnerability management, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Tools:
  • Software Development: IDEs, version control systems (Git), build tools, debugging tools
  • DevOps: Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), configuration management (Ansible, Puppet), monitoring and logging tools
  • Collaboration: JIRA, Slack, Microsoft Teams, or similar tools
  • Productivity: Word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software
  • Security: (Optional, depending on role) Vulnerability scanners, penetration testing tools, security information and event management (SIEM) systems, compliance management software, privacy management software
