Please mention that you found this position on Remotedom, it helps us grow.

Every year, supply chain disruptions cause estimated losses of $40 billion for trade between the US and Latin America alone. Globally, this number exceeds $1 trillion. At Auba, we are on a mission to eliminate these disruptions by revolutionizing how companies manage their supply chains in North America and around the world. Our cutting-edge AI technology empowers businesses with unprecedented visibility, efficiency, and control over their logistics operations. In short, we are bringing the future to the world of logistics.

As a software engineer at Auba, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing our innovative supply chain solutions. You’ll work closely with a talented team of engineers and industry experts to build a scalable, reliable, and useful product that provides our clients with real-time visibility, predictive analytics, and actionable insights. We work in focused cycles with small, autonomous project teams (typically 1-2 other engineers at a time, for six weeks) to tackle a range of high-priority projects across our code base and application stack, and we’d like you to help us lead some of those teams!

Key Responsibilities

What You Will Do

  • Spend most of your time building software–we go out of our way to protect our engineers’ heads down work time during our six week cycles.
  • At times, you’ll be asked to lead your project team during a cycle. Our project teams work pretty autonomously, so you will have a lot of influence over how your team works during the cycle. You’ll help keep the project on track and external stakeholders up to date.
  • Design, build, and operate robust backend pipelines and systems capable of securely storing and processing large amounts of data and documents.
  • Integrate with AI systems and other internal and external data sources to improve the quality of our tracking product.
  • Help translate customer pain points into high-quality solutions, and then go implement them.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers as you work on projects with them.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

What We Are Looking For

We value diversity and encourage all interested candidates, regardless of whether they meet all qualifications, to apply. While the following qualifications are relevant to our work at Auba, they are not strict requirements.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently given a somewhat ambiguous problem statement–our project teams tend to be small and mostly autonomous, and we work across different geographies and time zones.
  • Significant experience in backend or full-stack product development, or equivalent. Some additional frontend experience is a plus.
  • Experience leading projects involving multiple engineers (breaking things down into tasks, sequencing those tasks, etc.).
  • Comfort writing high-quality code in at least one or two programming languages.
  • Experience with some of the following technologies is a plus: Node.js, Typescript, PostgreSQL, React, Python.
  • Experience architecting and building data pipelines is a plus.
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes and logistics is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Speaking Spanish is a plus!
  • We prioritize Eastern Time Zone (NY) location base for employees so they can join regular team sessions comfortably.
