Who We Are

We are Spectro Cloud. A super fast-growing startup on a mission to deliver a Kubernetes-centric platform that allows application teams (developers) and their IT & Platform friends to work together in making software easier, safer and more fun to deliver and manage. We help people use and run Kubernetes their way, anywhere. Led by a team that has built products and companies successfully before and is doing it again; together with talented team members and industry-leading investors backing us up, we are taking K8s to the moon and beyond.

What You Will Do

We are building Palette, which is for technical Kubernetes practitioners - platform teams, devops, and system administrators. You will understand their problems and pains, and translate that into features to drive great outcomes, helping them manage K8s at scale painlessly. That means you will need to be technical, speak their language, and be comfortable hands on with K8s so you can dive deep on the features that help them the most.

This role is all about elevating our ground-breaking day 0 through to day 2 management capabilities in Palette to the application tier. You will be responsible for understanding the platform engineering and developer experience market space and customer needs, the competitive landscape, as well as charting the evolution of Palette in this space. It requires deep understanding of the specific challenges involved such as developer abstractions, the application SDLC with an emphasis on continuous delivery and operations, GitOps, and the general application of CNCF technologies to platform engineering use cases.

You will join a tight-knit, fun, and driven product and engineering team and bring your awesome Product Management (PM) and Kubernetes technical skills and experience with you. We work as a team, and we are overall responsible for the Spectro Cloud product offerings. Amongst other things, you will help us drive:

  • Roadmapping and product strategy
  • User stories & persona definitions
  • Product and feature definitions
  • Feature delivery, descriptions, demos, etc.
  • Product management processes
  • User experience
  • Assist with sales and marketing collaterals

We work heavily with our amazing colleagues in the executive team, UX, marketing, engineering, QA, solution architects, and customer support.

About You

You LOVE technology because you’re curious, and you LOVE building amazing products that are a joy to use, even with complex technologies such as Kubernetes.

You have a computer science or engineering background, and you have extensive experience building or working with developers and application teams. Because we are building products that relieve developers of the burden, you need to understand infrastructure products, either physical, virtual, or X-as-a-Service well enough to build the right interfaces for those developers. Given that our product is Kubernetes-based, you must have experience with Kubernetes.

In addition to an understanding of the developer platforms, knowledge of cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, VMware or bare metal cloud technologies such as MAAS is helpful.

You have good product management experience and are looking to continue to work on growing your skills. You have a customer-first and stakeholder-first mindset and you know that any great PM believes that product management is a service to others.

You like digging into features together with customers and engineering, and you are fastidious with an attention to detail. If things aren’t written down, you make sure they get written down!

You’re a fantastic communicator, you enjoy and feel comfortable interacting with people from all walks of life. You know how to write because you enjoy it. You’re meticulous and detail-oriented such that you don’t rest until everyone understands what is needed.

You know how to prioritize, even when it feels uncomfortable. You know how to set expectations and uncover the critical path in ambiguous situations.

You are experienced with good product management practices and processes, and know how to introduce them if needed, or alter existing processes to bring greater value. You’re happy working in a fast paced and exciting environment.

You’re comfortable stepping in and covering for others in your team.

Finally, you are open, inclusive, and transparent, because you understand that this engenders trust and respect and ultimately, better products.

The role is available in EU, UK, or US timezones.
