What you will be doing

AmerisourceBergen is looking for a passionate, innovative and experienced Product Design Manager to join our growing product design team and support the vision, build out and ongoing lifecycle of enterprise digital products. Under the direction of the Product Design Sr. Manager, this role is responsible for partnering with our business leaders, consultants and agile teams to ensure the voice of the customer is translated into meaningful and easy to use capabilities. This managerial role will be responsible for leading a product design team to develop and execute design strategies that align with business objectives and user needs.

Desired Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead design initiatives focused on understanding customer needs and translate these into digital strategies and experiences that are aligned with business goals and technically feasibility

  • Define and document UX strategy and support the team in executing throughout the design and build phase.

  • Intake, scope, and plan new initiatives, as well as determine the supporting team to tackle the design and delivery of the engagement.

  • Collaborate with design, researchers, customer engagement, development, product squads and stakeholders to deliver solutions that improve the overall experience for our customers

  • Advocate for customers with a commitment to making complex processes elegant, intuitive, and easy

  • Mentor and coach direct reports to support their development and continuous progress.

  • Work with designers across product teams and lead broad, organizational-wide initiatives

 

What your background should look like 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI) or equivalent professional experience is required.

  • Eight (8) or more years experience in digital product design for both web and mobile platforms – preferably focused on internal and external complex applications.

  • Expert ability to understand & create product strategies.

  • Advanced experience leading, coaching, and mentoring product design teams.

  • Ability to work closely with agile squads to drive effective and efficient implementation of processes and designs.

  • Knowledge of how HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web languages impact design process and development.

  • Excellent presentation, communication, documentation and organization skills.

  • Strong presence, including ability to partner with and effectively influence product and engineer leaders

  • Skilled at communicating verbally and in writing to diverse audiences

  • Proactive self-starter; assertive and able to ensure that Product Design principles are adhered to

  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to quickly re-prioritize in a dynamic environment

  • Analytical mindset and creativity to balance detailed problem solving with ‘big picture’ strategic view
