Role summary
The Pricing and Market Analyst/Senior Analyst is responsible for supporting OCE’s (OhmConnect Energy) ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) retail pricing functions. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the products offered meet company objectives for customer acquisition and margin optimization. In addition, this role will actively participate in the ongoing development and valuation of OCE’s Demand Response product.
What you will do
- Manage trade confirmations process to ensure records accurately reflect those of OCE’s wholesale counterparties.
- Price residential energy plans for OhmConnect in Texas to support customer acquisition targets as well as existing customer retention
- Assure accurate deployment of prices across sales channels that meet revenue and gross margin expectations
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing and Operations to develop pricing solutions to meet market / company / customer needs (including new offer development)
- Incorporate relevant internal and external market information to maintain and improve pricing model (TDU charges, AS costs, RECs etc.); maintain inputs and calculations.
- Track wholesale pricing to ensure competitive market position
- Actively support Risk Management efforts by tracking supply cost and purchases
- Update and monitor data in the load forecasting system
- Analysis (Economic, competitive, business planning, and other ad hoc)
- Streamline reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Fill knowledge gaps through self-driven learning; SME in ERCOT market changes; value of DR
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a retail energy supply or pricing role; preferably ERCOT.
- Retail energy experience required (Residential). Small Commercial Experience a Plus.
- Strong commercial acumen
- Superior analytical and modeling skills
- Voracious learner
- Ability to work through details while never losing sight of larger business objectives
- Technologically driven to build scalable, efficient processes
- Ability to thrive in a fully remote work environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, mathematics or related field
