Bring your deep expertise in designing and implementing solution architectures to our team! As a seasoned solution architect, you will spearhead new projects by bringing together the tools and technologies that enable world-class platforms and applications. Working closely with our product and engineering teams, you will design, prototype, and guide the engineering team in implementing new systems, features, and industry-transforming products built on our data platform. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will serve as the technical subject matter expert for our engineering team as we create innovative solutions for our customers.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with our product management team to understand our customers and business needs, helping to refine our product requirements to facilitate rapid project execution and scalable systems.
  • Create technical architectures that support our product roadmap, and best utilize our team’s technical skills to efficiently build products and platform enhancements.
  • Prototype new technologies and tools to quickly determine their suitability for our tech stack and engineering process.
  • Create technical designs that can be rapidly implemented by our engineering team.
  • Participate in code and design reviews with our engineering team to make sure your designs are properly implemented and meeting technical requirements.
  • Participate in the development of complex features as needed to help expedite project delivery.
  • Partner with our security and compliance team, technical and product stakeholders to ensure that nonfunctional requirements such as security, scalability, performance, observability, cost, and time to market are met.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to teammates on best practices, coding standards, and emerging technologies in the software engineering space.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in software engineering, sharing knowledge and insights with the team and the broader organization.


Required Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, including web and mobile applications, APIs, reporting and analytics platforms, data pipelines, and data lake platforms.
  • Strong hands-on proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Spark, and Python.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS compute, serverless, database, storage, container, and security services and tools
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database technologies including MySQL.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Mastery of object-oriented best practices, including SOLID principles, Domain Driven Design, DRY, etc.
  • Solid grasp of security and compliance-related engineering best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize applications and infrastructure for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a passion for tackling complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to contribute to a shared vision.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data processing and streaming frameworks (e.g., Glue, Step Functions, Hudi, Kafka, AWS Kinesis)
  • Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Redis, Cassandra)
  • Contributions to open-source software engineering projects or active participation in the software engineering community


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. Advanced degrees are preferred but not required. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
