Job Description:
Reporting to VP of Analytics, the Analytics Engineer will own the claims data processes from ingestion to transformations. Transform complex healthcare claims data into actionable insights that drive informed decision-making. This critical role bridges the gap between healthcare and data analysis, optimizing healthcare efficiency and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Engineering:
- Utilize SQL queries and build data pipelines (using dbt)
- Conduct thorough data quality assurance (QA) to identify inconsistencies, guaranteeing data integrity and generating periodical QA reports.
- Data Analysis:
- Work with data analysts to build transformations.
- Develop and implement novel metrics and aggregations related to healthcare claims, including risk scoring, utilization patterns, and medication trends.
- Data Communication:
- Translate findings into clear, concise reports and presentations, effectively communicating insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Generate monthly claims reports to keep stakeholders informed.
- Collaboration:
- Foster communication and collaboration between engineering and analytics teams.
- Work alongside data scientists, healthcare professionals, and business stakeholders to ensure analysis aligns with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Strong foundation in SQL, data warehousing, dbt (preferred), and potentially programming languages like Python or R.
- Understanding of healthcare claims data required, medicare, medicaid claims data experience a huge plus.
- Healthcare payer experience
- Understanding of healthcare economics is a plus.
- Passion for data analysis, identifying patterns, and drawing insightful conclusions.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex data analysis.
