The Design Principal – Video leads and manages a range of complex creative solutions from concept through final execution, with an emphasis on concepting, directing and creating video and motion graphic work. In addition, they will oversee a small team of graphic designers, ensuring work reflects strategic direction and meets brand guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Support and execute business strategies through creative, video presentation and digital design for internal and external materials; manage projects from initial creative kickoff through production
- Provide creative direction, cross-training and mentorship to small team of graphic designers
- Collaborate closely with creative team members, cross-functional partners and marketing leadership to transform business objectives and complex concepts into innovative creative solutions that further the development of our brand across platforms and channels
- Ability to challenge standard practices and apply new and different ways of thinking to generate new ideas/opportunities, creating designs that push the expected creative boundaries while maintaining brand compliance
- Ensure client satisfaction by proactively managing expectations and providing timely, quality work; educate associates on cost-effective measures and processes; anticipate client critiques and provide rationale as well as multiple design concepts
- Present creative work, verbally expressing intention and clearly communicating visual ideas to clients, team members and leadership
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
- 8 years of work experience in Graphic Design
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
- Proven ability to concept, create and edit animation and motion graphics in Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro
- Highly motivated, strategic thinker with passion for producing and directing digital creative solutions and design systems
- Willing to foster an environment that encourages innovation, teamwork and development of unique and effective creative solutions
- Passion for staying current on evolving design tools, software and technology to enhance capabilities and deliverables
- Exceptional writing and presentation skills
- Strong portfolio showcasing high-end strategic design with a focus on video and digital capabilities
- Ability to prioritize demands of your team, meet tight deadlines and balance multiple projects while maintaining a high attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in creating presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint and working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products
- Experience with concepting, creating and editing animation and motion graphics in Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro
- Experience in interactive design (e.g., responsive webpage concepts, digital style guides, data visualization)

Potential pay for this position ranges from $83,900.00 - $125,900.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
