Your Role
We are looking for a “startup-ready” software engineer to join our core engineering team, who will work side-by-side with our clinical and product teams to change the experience of healthcare.
We’re building mobile and web experiences that transform how thousands of patients receive care every day, a clinical intelligence platform that proactively prioritizes patients in need of care, and the underlying infrastructure to scale to millions of patients across the country.
Our tech stack includes React, React Native, Typescript, Python, Django, Postgres, Docker, Terraform, and AWS. We think it’s a great modern foundation for tackling the problems we need to solve.
You will:
- Work to evolve Firefly’s front-end architecture across web and mobile platforms
- Partner with product and tech leaders to deliver delightful user experiences that make world-class care accessible and engaging for our members
- Develop design and plan the data and presentation layer for the front-end applications
- Own projects from ideation to release
- Contribute to technical architecture and best practices across the team
You’d be a good fit if:
- Worked with enterprise React Native applications at scale
- You focus on scalable architectural patterns and their long-term adoption
- Experience bridging between progressive web and React Native technologies
- Experience working with automated testing suites, native build tools
- You love learning and unstructured problem-solving
- You enjoy and take ownership in designing, building, and shipping features end-to-end
- You strive to build collaborative engineering cultures through thoughtful code review, documentation, mentorship, and teamwork
It’d be nice if:
- You have experience working with healthcare data and/or APIs
- You have experience working remotely across a geographically dispersed team
Our office is in Watertown, Massachusetts, but we’ve developed a robust remote working structure to give us more geographical flexibility while hiring for many positions.
This role can be done largely remotely, there are several times a year when staff come together onsite for planning and team building.
