About the role
JBH is a renowned digital PR and SEO agency, based in Manchester and London in the UK and has ambitious plans to expand its client base further in the US, with the ultimate goal of launching an office in the US very soon and really establishing our presence.
To help us achieve our growth plans, JBH is looking for a highly talented and motivated PR Manager to help us deliver innovative digital PR campaigns to support our clients in the US, generate relevant and authoritative coverage and backlinks and build brand awareness and credibility in competitive marketplaces.
The role will work closely with the directors and senior management team to build a US PR team from scratch and help us build the JBH brand in the States. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering PR campaigns from end to end, managing small teams, delivering training and creating pitches and proposals to support the sales team with new business development.

You’ll have all the support and backing from the directors and the UK team to help you deliver campaigns and build the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Account management of digital PR accounts for US clients - working on all aspects including client communications, service delivery, reviewing performance and delivering client reviews
- Advise on PR strategy for clients considering SEO, brand and commercial objectives in line with our focus on showcasing the value of DPR to the wider business.
- Creation and delivery of creative and data-led digital PR campaigns from end to end in line with client objectives
- Follow the news closely, set up Google alerts for clients and monitor HARO requests so that you’re ready to respond to newsjacking opportunities and provide journalists with expert-led content promptly
- Source and analyse the most relevant, credible and timely data sources to generate data-led angles for pitching to publications across a range of verticals
- Develop media lists via databases like MuckRack and Prowly plus conduct manual prospecting for campaigns at a more targeted level
- Build relationships with journalists in key verticals so that they come to us when they’re looking for stories, data and expertise.
- Measure and report on campaign performance using tools like Ahrefs and Semrush and provide feedback on learnings for future campaigns
- Managed a team devoted to delivering PR campaigns for US brands including PRs, content writers, data analysts and designers
- Work alongside the CEO and People and Culture team to hire PR and content specialists to support US account activity
- Train current team members and new recruits on all elements of digital PR activity from ideation to prospecting and pitching
- Work with the new business development team on pitches and proposals for prospects in a range of b2b and b2c verticals.
Desirable
- Experience of leading and managing a team of PR professionals - motivating the team to ensure energy is high and KPIs are hit
- Experience of creating and delivering training plans to current and future team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver campaigns successfully from fruition to completion
- Experience and of working alongside senior management and/or sales teams to create proposals and pitches and help the senior management team hit commercial targets
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- At least 4 years experience in an agency environment.
- Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
- SEO/keyword research is desirable
- Leadership experience training and managing a small team of managers.
- The ability to map out new processes from start to finish and implement these across the team.
- Experience and ability to confidently inform processes and streamline workflows
- The ability to create brand strategy, and deliver relevant and authoritative coverage for a variety of brands and clients.
- The ability to use and manipulate data for campaigns.
