JOB SUMMARY
The Data Architect is responsible for the design, maintenance and building of conceptual, logical and physical database models. This position has no direct reports.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop database solutions by designing proposed system, database physical structure and functional capabilities
- Create and maintain database diagrams, flowcharts and data dictionaries
- Work with data modeling tools such as ERwin
- Establish data standards for enterprise data management
- Create and maintain data models, database standards, rule sets and data governance
- Design standards for using normalized and de-normalized data structures and dimensional structures
- Define common design patterns for modeling various types of relationships
- Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members
- Create and maintain policies, procedures and standards to govern data architect and ETL process
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum eight to ten years’ experience in data modeling/design
- In-depth knowledge of data modeling and database design on SQL and Oracle platforms
- Extensive knowledge of MSSQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, OLAP, OLTP
- High level of experience with Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) strategy, design and implementation including ETL across different platforms, Oracle to SQL databases
- Strong understanding on reporting technologies and the interaction with data warehouse
- Strong understanding of data and data visualizations with experience in reporting systems
- Ability to independently identify, research and resolve issues
- Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and detail oriented perspective
- Ability to work with peers in a team effort
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- A well-organized and self-directed individual who is able to work with minimal amount of supervision
- Capability to efficiently complete tasks in a fast paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry related software programs
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant with industry demand
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field
