About WorkMoney FinOps
WorkMoney’s Finance & Operations team (FinOps) keeps the team’s engines humming by managing the organization’s financial processes and information systems running with integrity and precision. We also take the lead on liaising with outside counsel to track and manage risk across the organization, and meet diverse compliance needs across our connected entities.
Why We Need A Compliance Manager
As WorkMoney continues to expand, the need for meticulous oversight of compliance and legal review processes has become increasingly critical. From managing content reviews to handling state charitable filings and contracts, this role will play a vital part in ensuring that WorkMoney operates in accordance with all regulatory requirements. Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for team members with legal inquiries and contract needs, addressing/escalating compliance questions, and providing guidance on procedure and contractual provisions
- In partnership with vendors, chief responsibility for tracking and executing all business and charitable state filings for WorkMoney entities
- Coordinating information gathering for audits, federal filings, and other other projects as required ensuring accuracy
- Overseeing the content review process, ensuring proper documentation, liaising with external legal team, and escalating issues as necessary
- Managing administrative tasks such as document organization, contract registry maintenance, contract referencing, and signature acquisition
- Developing, improving, and maintaining tracking systems to streamline compliance processes
- Collaborating with colleagues on routine reporting tasks, providing data for various reporting needs
- Researching new or emerging areas of program work for potential compliance requirements
- Assisting in formulating management policies regarding worker conditions, including having access to confidential information necessary for the formulation of these labor policies, with the understanding that such information must be handled with the utmost discretion and confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned
Example projects would include:
- Ensuring the copy for digital communications meets relevant compliance obligations by supporting stakeholders to complete their respective review and copyediting tasks in a timely manner
- Researching best practices and emerging guidance on disclosure related to the use of generative AI
- Compiling and structuring documentation regarding salary changes, policy changes, and board and committee notes in preparation for annual audit
Requirements

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience supporting a team in an administrative and compliance oriented role, in areas including but not limited to paralegal, procurement, or state / financial reporting
- Deep understanding of compliance intricacies, including legal and regulatory requirements
- Proficient in interpreting and analyzing contracts and legal documents, with a knack for translating compliance jargon for non-compliance stakeholders
- Demonstrated proficiency in maintaining impeccable organization, ensuring meticulous attention to detail
- Proficient in strategic systems thinking, adept at orchestrating collaboration among stakeholders for optimal outcomes
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, capable of creating sophisticated, user-friendly spreadsheets
- Innate curiosity and a proactive approach to learning
- Adaptability for navigating ambiguous situations and evolving priorities with ease
- Track record of stakeholder management experience, driving compliance with internal processes and holding various levels of team members accountable for completing their defined tasks in a standard operating procedure
- Demonstrated customer service and user centered orientation to designing and enforcing protocols

The salary for this role is $92,700 annually and as part of our commitment to pay equity in our organization, the salary for this position is not negotiable.
