AFAR, the leading travel media brand in the U.S., is looking for a Brand Marketing Manager to raise awareness for AFAR in the travel and media industries. The Brand Marketing Manager will create, manage, and execute a cohesive trade marketing strategy that raises awareness and attracts new clients and partners to work with AFAR. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter that takes initiative and is eager to build relationships and work with internal and external partners. This is a new role within the marketing department and will report to the Associate Director, Marketing Activations.

 

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute AFAR’s trade marketing strategy to deliver on key company objectives and quarterly performance indicators 

Manage various trade marketing tactics, including email communication, trade show participation, client entertaining, award outreach, and press relationships to deliver on goals 

Develop and manage project budgets and timelines

Create a cohesive pre- and post-event marketing strategy surrounding key trade shows/conferences; partner with AFAR departments to execute on event strategy 

Develop and execute communication plan for various awards platforms and editorial tentpoles (Hotels We Love, Vanguard, Where to Go, etc) 

Build and manage relationships with key travel and media trade show/conference stakeholders 

Work with internal creative, editorial, audience development, and marketing personnel to ensure consistent b2b brand messaging and design across all channels (print, digital, audio, social, video, events, etc.) 

Develop strategic partnerships that support business and brand objectives 


Requirements:

Ability to collaborate across multiple departments 

Excellent project management skills and attention to detail 

Strong written and verbal communication skills 

Strong sense of urgency, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines 

Proficient in InDesign, Google Docs/Slides/Grids, Microsoft Office 

Passion for travel 

Based in the U.S. 


Preferred:

2+ years in travel trade, media, PR, or communications industry

Experience working in Sailthru, Asana, CMS/Brightspot, Adobe Suite, CRMs (Boostr preferred), Slack, and/or Microsoft Outlook
