JOB SUMMARY

The Application Architect is responsible for playing the technology expert / owner role for a given set of technologies and/or applications and providing technical guidance to the developers and projects making changes to the technology under the Application Architect’s purview. This position has no direct reports.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a technical leader and subject matter expert for a given set of technologies and applications as well as related processes and data
  • Create, maintain, and manage architecture models and their lower level components
  • Design and govern application enhancements
  • Work closely with the other Architects and key project stakeholders to deliver effective and sound solutions impacting assets under purview
  • Provide technical guidance to the project teams and work closely with Solution Architects to ensure that project architectures follow established architecture standards and guidelines
  • Partner with business stakeholders and end-users to conceptualize new projects or enhancements
  • Ensure that project architecture and design align with the architecture of the existing applications that are impacted by the changes introduced by the project
  • Ensure all IT project deliverables comply with established architecture standards and guidelines
  • Partner with external and internal clients if necessary to understand their business needs and ensure the architecture meets the IT need of each business or client
  • Assist Enterprise Architects with creating models of Elixir/EnvisionRx current and future state application, data, infrastructure, security and overall technology architecture
  • Develop and drive domain/application standards and best practices that align with enterprise direction
  • Maintain technical debt catalog for applications and technologies under purview and work with Enterprise Architects to establish a plan for resolving technical debt items
  • Participate in the architecture governance process
  • Explain technical issues and IT solution strategies to stakeholders and other IT professionals
  • Provide documentation, training and support for the applications and technology under purview
  • Proactively seek to understand major IT and industry trends and apply them to IT solutions, new initiatives, and capability roadmaps

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree
  • A minimum of two years in a professional senior technical role such as technical lead, team lead, architect, or another hands-on leadership role ideally for a large enterprise, major consultancy or system integrator with a total of at least 7 years of combined professional experience
  • An articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills
  • Sound technical skills, strong analytical ability, good judgment, keen operational focus, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented, agile environment
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is able to work with minimal amount of supervision and manage multiple priorities
  • Results oriented with ability to produce products that deliver organizational benefits
  • Strong critical thinker with problem solving aptitude
  • Team player with experience leading and collaborating across teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills demonstrating outside-the-box, innovative problem solving skills
  • Ability to develop solution architecture designs
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, current IT trends, modern technology landscape, architecture principles, and advanced development techniques
  • Experience in developing Services Oriented Architectures (SOA) and/or microservices-based architectures
  • Willingness to travel as required by business demand
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant with industry demands

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated agile methodologies experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy benefits management or health care domain
  • Strong technical background
  • Six Sigma or process orientation / education
  • Strong SDLC background
  • .NET and Microsoft technology stack knowledge and experience
  • SQL and Oracle database knowledge and experience

QUALIFICATIONS

The typical starting pay range for this position is between $112,300/year and $161,050/year, although wages can vary based on experience and geography.
