Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Advisory Services Data Analyst and Visualization Specialist to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our business advisory services, focusing on data analysis, visualization, and ensuring the integrity of data processes. Your expertise in data management, SQL, and visualization tools will play a vital role in providing valuable insights to support our clients’ business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Short Term Enablement Packages:
• Deliver short-term enablement packages for clients, providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge to quickly derive value from our data solutions.
• Ensure clients can independently utilize data resources for immediate business impact.
• Requirement Gathering and Documentation:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements for data pipelines, mappings, and dashboards specific to business advisory services.
• Maintain accurate records of Source to Target Mappings and other critical documentation.
• Data Profiling and Analysis:
• Conduct thorough data profiling and analysis of source system data and metadata to ensure the highest standards of data quality.
• Develop and test (unit and integration) views for Business Conformance layers using SQL tailored for business advisory needs.
• Client Interaction and Training:
• Facilitate requirements sessions and client meetings, ensuring a deep understanding of business goals and objectives.
• Provide user training sessions to ensure clients can effectively leverage data insights for strategic decision-making.
• Reference Data Management:
• Build reference data for hierarchies, lookups, and grouping purposes, specifically aligned with business advisory requirements.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive Data Dictionaries and Data lineage documents to enhance transparency.
• Code Review and Mentorship:
• Review SQL code and deliverables, providing constructive feedback and mentorship to junior team members within the business advisory services context.
• Foster a collaborative and learning-oriented environment within the team.
• Data Visualization for Business Impact:
• Develop and configure data visualizations using tools such as Tableau or PowerBI, ensuring they directly contribute to business advisory goals.
• Create impactful visualizations that aid clients in understanding complex business scenarios.
• Process Improvement for Business Efficiency:
• Identify, define, and implement new process improvement opportunities specific to business advisory services, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
• Document processes and workflows with a focus on optimizing business advisory data workflows.
• Additional Responsibilities:
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing specifically to the success of business advisory services and client satisfaction.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong experience with at least one database tool, such as Snowflake, Databricks, SQLServer, Oracle, etc.
• Experience working with at least one data visualization tool, such as Tableau or Microsoft PowerBI.
• Strong critical and analytical thinking skills, coupled with effective problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at bridging the language gap between business and technical users.
• Exceptional technical writing skills with a track record of documenting business requirements, development specifications, and user guides.
• Proficient in leveraging ChatGPT or a similar tool to enhance customer interactions and information.
• Enthusiastic, eager learner with a positive attitude toward challenges.
• Strong presentation skills, capable of effectively conveying complex technical information to diverse audiences.
• Experience working on data management projects for data lakes, data warehousing, and Business Intelligence (BI).
• Proven success in driving projects through effective questioning, understanding business requirements, and translating them into tangible development tasks.

Preferred Experience

• Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS
• End-to-end understanding of data integration and ETL/ELT processes
• Experience in working with financial institutions such as Credits Unions and Banks
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket
• A strong understanding of Agile software development life cycle and methodology
